*Yuan is a distinctive character of ancient Chinese gardens which were large enclosed parks where hunting games for kings and nobles were held, fruits and vegetables were grown. Yuan can also refer to a small picture of such garden. It is usually enclosed in a square to represent a wall along with other numerous symbols to portray other regular components including structures, ponds and plantations.

 

Combining boy toys with delicate plants and flowers, Saran Yen Panya brings to life his imaginary miniature garden or his very own Yuan with vintage toys that he has been collecting since the age of 6 to his present year.
