Pop up Furniture Exhibition at

New Heng Ki Restaurant

 

Hijacking the most popular mundane object commonly used among Thai Street Food vendors, “Noodle Stool” series is an exploration of forms, shapes, patterns, and texture via furniture design. The exhibition was held temporarily for 1 week during Bangkok Design Week 2018 at a 60 years old Chinese Restaurant that served as the main inspiration for oriental motifs used on all the stools. 

 

By refining and redsigning an iconic light-weight metal stool into contemporary piece, 56thStudio has also invited many young Thai artists and designers such as Chatchanok Pink, Suthipa Kamyam, Ease Embroidery and Patipat Chaiwitesh to help preserving the rustic charm of this underrated forms into contemporary design pieces.
